THE UNEXPECTED
On the third of three days I took off from work, I went on a short twenty minute errand to pick up my personal computer newly repaired.
I arrived at about 11:00am and had my computer in hand within a few minutes, ready to head back home. The car wouldn’t start. It acted like the battery was dead but that made no sense. The battery was relatively new. Hmm…
I called AAA roadside service. A kind man came and did some diagnostics and confirmed 1) I was right. It isn’t starting, and 2) It isn’t the battery.
So, he called for a second tow truck which towed me to the place where I have a service contract. The fix the mechanic said would be simple and quick but he needed to order a part. That might take an hour, three hours, or might not come til the next day.
Eternal optimist I am, I was sure it would come in an hour. When it didn’t I was sure it would come the next hour. This went on until 3:30pm when the mechanic said conclusively it would definitely be tomorrow.
I have to work tomorrow and I do a lot of driving for my job. Got myself to the airport using ZTrip and rented a car.
The car was the same make, model, and color as my 2018 car only it was a 2024 with only 600 miles on it. It still had that new car smell.
After work the next day, I got my own car back and the car drama was over. Most of the service was covered under the contract I had and they fixed a few additional things.
All is well that ends well.
THE SERENE
Balancing out the unexpected car events were the serene walks.

Despite the unexpected, It has been a successful week. Many things were accomplished, then the walks grounded and delighted me. I feel rested and reset, ready to return to work again.
