The following are the series of progressions of my Grecian painting. After a procedure Friday, (routine colonoscopy which went fine,) I developed a cold. I have been home since Friday and today (Tuesday) is also a sick day. The upside, I had time and attention to dedicate to painting. This completed painting is the result.
Between these two was 6 year pause. The painting was started in Utah, and completed in Colorado.
This last image is the painting 95% complete. I will tweak things over the next few weeks as I see them, but will make no more major changes.
I like it. I plan to keep it on my own living room wall. At 30″ x 40″ this is the largest oil painting I have made so far. I like doing them large because you can have greater attention to detail and more room to play with composition, but if I made a lot, I don’t have space to store them. Luckily I like doing smaller ones also.
