Greetings from my new living room!

I don’t yet have working internet so I am using my phone and its cellular data. This will be short. By next week I will have the time and equipment for writing again.

It has been a week of connecting utilities, and setting a household up around my normal work week.

Thanks to my brother for helping move all my stuff from a rented storage unit to my home in a U-Haul, and thanks to my dad for the use of his van when I saw a recliner chair in good condition in front of a neighbor’s home with a ‘free’ sign. That was today (Monday 9/21.) It is very comfortable and looks good in the living room.

It is joyful work both at home and in my vocation. I am grateful for a new household beginning and grateful for the work I do where I can make a difference for other people.
From the standpoint of what I actually accomplish each day I wouldn’t call my life easy, but there is a peacefulness, happiness and quality that transcends.
I can contain all of life’s dimensions a little more gracefully now that I am older. I can feel the state of the world and send love. I can help people in difficult situations at work without being overwhelmed emotionally. I can be with family with all its complexity. I can be with others with every kind of point of view without feeling the need to engage the difference. I see there is more between us that is the same.
I had a conversation with a female friend yesterday. We both agreed reaching 50 was a milestone. Suddenly I dropped all of what I perceived I had to be for others, and claimed who I am. Best part was, no one even noticed the change because it was all on the inside. I don’t know the future, but I feel good about the present because I feel more confident.
Maybe that is the best part of the ‘new everything.’
