A picture as scattered looking as I have felt this week. I’ve had the flu and slept a lot and writing a blog on time wasn’t possible. I’m hoping I am at the tail end of the illness. In this moment I feel a little better.
On the positive, I’ve almost completed the book, Sapiens. It gets very interesting not only from an archeological, and historical perspective, but also at times a searing indictment of the consistent nature of the animal we are: Sapiens. I would guess one theme would be the challenge to the notion we are intelligent or important animals in the grand scheme of the universe.
Later in the book it focuses on the influence of the agricultural and industrial revolutions then takes on capitalism’s influence in modern times.
I have about 50 pages yet to read and am grateful for the distraction from sleeping when my brain can handle it. I’ve done a lot of sleeping this week.
It was a pleasant holiday, aside from the sickness. It just had a few unexpected turns…
