As of this week here is my garden:
The first of three plots has Russet potatoes, green onions and cilantro. The herbs will go in the blue pots but are still in trays growing. The other two sections will have sweet potatoes in one patch and tomatoes and peppers in the other. (Anaheim and Jalapeño)
The second plot has lettuce, Swiss chard, and turnips so far. It will also have broccoli, flowers and maybe okra. My father wanted beets in his garden so I offered to plant my beets in his plot and he accepted, so they went there making more room in this one.
The last plot is completely planted now and before today was empty. From front to back it has corn, Zucchini, butternut squash, acorn squash, and cucumbers. It is covered in coconut husk shavings for mulch.
I had a visitor show up while I was gardening. He was injured and couldn’t fly but was trying to. I put him in the grass out of the hot sun. Hope he heals.
I was going to contact a local Catholic Abbey close to where I live to ask where extra produce (I hope I have) could be put to use. I was surprised to learn the Abbey had been sold.
I’ll find ways to contribute it if I have an abundant crop. I am enjoying it. Time speeds by while gardening. Since I walk through a dog park to get there each time, I frequently get doggie kisses on the hand… BONUS!!
